President, July 1, 2023 – June 30, 2025

  • Shall be the Executive Officer of the EEA and be charged with carrying out the policies of the association.
  • Shall prepare an agenda, attend, and preside at all meetings of the Executive Board and the general membership.
  • Shall appoint or remove the chairperson of all committees with the approval of the majority of the Executive Board.
  • Shall call special meetings of the general membership when due cause warrants it.
  • Shall confer with the Executive Board on the appointment of committee members.
  • Shall serve as the official spokesperson of the association or appoint a designee.
  • Shall serve as a liaison between the three “anchors” of the school system: the EEA, the School Committee, and the Superintendent. Shall attend “anchor’ meetings when scheduled.
  • Shall serve as a liaison between the association’s MTA representative and the general membership.
  • Shall be an attending member of the Executive Board and the general membership meetings.
  • Shall serve as a member of the Negotiating Team.
  • Shall perform all other functions usually charged to this office.

Yearly Stipend for President: $2,000 & Payment of Membership Fees.


Vice-President/Grievance Chairperson, July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2026

  • Shall assume the duties of the President in his/her absence or when the Presidency becomes vacant prior to the completion of a term until a special election is held.
  • Shall serve as Assistant to the President and shall meet with the President on a regular basis to remain aware of association business.
  • Shall serve as a liaison between committees and the Executive Board and report each committee’s progress to the President and the Executive Board.
  • Shall attend Executive Board meetings and general membership meetings.
  • Shall serve as the EEA’s grievance chairperson and perform the following duties:
    • Meet with EEA members wishing to grieve issues or contract language.
    • Conduct appropriate research relevant to grievances filed.
    • Meet with Principals, the Superintendent, or other such parties construed as violators of contractual language.
    • Draft and submit appropriate and timely paperwork at all levels as outlined in the contract on the member’s behalf.
    • Maintain accurate records of all grievances filed.
    • Meet with the association’s MTA representative to discuss issues, resolutions, proceedings, and findings.
    • Insure proper procedures and protocols are adhered to throughout the grievance process.
    • Be available for subsequent meetings regarding grievances filed as contractual steps proceed.
    • Conduct grievance workshops periodically for the Executive Board and the general membership.
    • Prepare for and attend all arbitrations/mediations.
    • Shall serve as Chairperson of the negotiations team.
    • Shall perform all other functions usually charged to this office.

Yearly Stipend for Vice President: $2,000 & Payment of Membership Fees.


Treasurer, July 1, 2023 – June 30, 2025

  • Shall bill and collect annual dues from the membership for amounts due to the EEA, MTA, and NEA according to the requirements of those organizations and with an agreed upon schedule of payments between the association and the state and national organizations.
  • Shall hold the funds of the EEA and disburse them as authorized by the vote of the Executive Board or the general membership.
  • Shall keep accurate accounts of receipts and disbursements and shall report to each meeting of the Executive Board and to the general membership.
  • Shall bring to the Executive Board for approval all disbursements over three hundred dollars ($300.00) other than stipends.
  • Shall keep the President, Executive Board, and the general membership informed of the financial condition of the EEA.
  • Shall attend all Executive Board and general membership meetings.
  • Shall arrange for audits by an independent agency if the need arises and make contents available to the Executive Board and the general membership.
  • Shall welcome/orient new employees/members.
  • Shall maintain membership lists for the EEA and MTA and furnish, on request, information to the Executive Board.
  • Shall perform all other functions usually charged to this office.

Yearly Stipend for Treasurer: $3,000 & Payment of Membership Fees.


Secretary, July 1, 2023 – June 30, 2025

  • Shall keep records of all Executive Board and general membership meetings and shall have available said records for the general membership.
  • Shall keep attendance records for all Executive Board members and make such records available to the general membership upon request.
  • Shall be an attending member of Executive Board and general membership meetings.
  • Shall be responsible for the distribution of meeting notices at least three (3) days before scheduled meetings.
  • Shall be responsible for filling out required building usage forms prior to meetings.
  • Shall be responsible for all necessary correspondence, as needed.
  • Shall perform all other functions usually charged to this office.

Yearly Stipend for Secretary: $750 & Payment of Membership Fees.


Chapter Chairs

  • Each Chapter, except for “Educator”, of the EEA shall elect a “Chapter Chair” representative which will be as follows:
    • 1 – Paraeducator/ESP, July 1, 2023 – June 30, 2025
    • 1 – Administrator Assistant, July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2026
    • 1 – Custodian, July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2026
  • Each Chapter will vote and elect its own representative to serve as Chapter Chair for its unit.
  • The elected individuals shall hold a designated Chapter Chair seat on the Executive Board and will serve a two (2) year term.
  • Stipends for the Chapter Chairs shall be set by the Executive Board prior to the publishing of the slate of officers before an election. Changes in stipends may be voted upon by the Executive Board if due cause is demonstrated and approved by a majority vote of the general membership. Said changes shall remain in effect for one (1) year, at which time motions by the Executive Board member for new changes may be entertained.
  • Annual stipends for Chapter Chairs shall be as follows and shall include payment of membership fees.
    • Paraeducator/ESP Chapter Chair: $400
    • Administrative Assistant Chapter Chair: $400
    • Custodial Chapter Chair: $400
  • Responsibilities
    • Shall be an attending member of the Executive Board and the general membership meetings of his/her unit.
    • Shall serve as the official spokesperson of his/her Chapter or appoint a designee.
    • Shall serve as a liaison between the three “anchors” of the system: the EEA, the School Committee, and the Superintendent.
    • Shall be responsible for the general oversight of grievances from the respective constituency.
    • Shall bring forth unit concerns to the EEA Executive Board as necessary.
    • Shall serve as a Negotiation Team member.
    • Shall attend all arbitrations/mediations.
    • Shall perform all other functions charged to this office.

Building Union Representative

  • Responsibilities
    • Shall be attending members of the Executive Board.
    • Shall act as the liaison between the EEA and building members.
    • Shall be responsible for distributing EEA communications to building members.
    • Shall keep building members informed of Executive Board meetings, decisions, and policies.
    • Shall have a vote at Executive Board meetings and may recommend policy.
    • Shall keep the Executive Board informed of issues and concerns arising from those they represent.
    • Shall assist members in their building in the initial steps of the grievance procedure.
    • Shall be instrumental in soliciting new membership.
    • Shall be in charge of voting in their respective schools should the need arise.
    • Shall meet regularly with building administrators.
    • Shall perform all other functions usually charged to this office.

Yearly Stipend for Building Representative: $300
